About the diocese
Shared life and pastoral service in the Chin hills
The Diocese of Mindat is a community of parishes, religious communities, and ministers working together across Mindat and the surrounding highlands. This page sets out the vision and mission that give direction to that shared work.
Our vision
A diocese united in faith and pastoral presence
The diocesan vision centers on spiritual accompaniment and community harmony. Parishes, religious communities, and ministers seek to walk alongside people in their daily lives, so that faith is lived as shared responsibility rather than distant obligation.
Leadership works collaboratively with local communities to support pastoral welfare, listening first and building trust across the diocese’s many communities.
Our mission
Practical service through parishes and outreach
The diocesan mission turns faith into practical service. Grassroots parishes and outreach works bring pastoral care, education, and support to the people nearest to them, adapting to the needs of each community.
This work is carried out in partnership. Ministers, parish councils, and community members share responsibility for care and welfare, so that help reaches people where they live.
Through education, healthcare, and pastoral accompaniment, the diocese seeks to serve the whole person and the whole community. Its commissions and ministries give structure to this service, and the parishes give it a local home.
